Bill Thomson, a Welsh transplant to Barbados in the 1960's, a keen rugby player and surfer, can be called the father of competitive surfing in Barbados.
Bill sadly left us in July 2017, leaving a void that will never be filled.
To honor Bill and all he's done for surfing in Barbados, and with the blessing of his family, several people got together to do just that.
This website supports a fund-raising effort to hold a World Surf League Qualifying event in Barbados in BIll's name, beginning in 2017 and continuing annually thereafter, the event to be named "WSL Thomo QS 1000 in memory of Bill Thomson".
